Which timber for your windows?

Timber types and colours

The choice of timber is more than a question of taste. What features should your windows offer? Burglar-proof windows require an especially strong timber with a high raw density. The best thermal efficiency is derived from lighter softwoods. Timber selection also plays a vital part in your chosen finish effect and colour - alongside our standard RAL solid colours.

There are good reasons for our pursuit of quality: the utilisation of timber types each originating from one source ensures flawless end results. The quality grading of the timber we use enables us to ensure consistent colouration, raw density and overall character. Such quality is only obtainable from controlled, sustainable forestry operations.

Oak (PEFC™ certified)

Solid, strong and robust - a timber with character and charisma, which has proven itself over thousands of years. Today, oak enjoys growing popularity. Our European oak is bright and friendly, with all the qualities required for windows which will last for generations.

Raw density Ø 720 kg/m³

Larch

Fine-grained Siberian larch offers the best prospects for durability. Fine, straight graining is coupled with expressive colors and textures, whilst the hard surface makes this timber particularly hardy.

Raw density Ø 570 kg/m³

Spruce

Subtle textures: The light timber with delicate yellow accents is a favorite of timber-aluminium windows. A welcoming, natural choice for the interior or the home.

Pine

Domestic pine is bright and welcoming. We use it exclusively for our timber-aluminum windows where the exterior is protected with aluminium. For pure wooden windows we utilise Pine.
